The Spring Team forms the branches of our congregation that reach out into the community. The mission of the Spring Team is to coordinate outreach and strengthen our congregation. This is done through a monthly food pantry in collaboration with St. Francis Episcopal, providing a monthly meal at the PiN ministry (People in Need), assisting Virginia Beach Human Services and congregants with a meal on the holidays, visiting homebound congregants, donations to the Virginia Beach Meals on Wheels program, donations to the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank and other needs as they present themselves. We share information with visitors about the life and activities of Emmanuel Lutheran, both within our congregation and in the wider community.
Ministry areas and projects to get involved with:
- Cooking and serving meals for People in Need (PiN)
- Food pantry collection, partnered with St. Francis Episcopal Church (509 S Rosemont Road | Virginia Beach, VA 23452)
- Visitation ministry with homebound members
- Seasonal collection and service ministries
